- A Colorado State University study found that increasingly severe wildfires at high elevations are impacting snowpack, an important reservoir for the U.S. West. The altered landscape makes it more challenging to predict when snow will melt and how much water will be available for use. – Colorado State University
- A U.S Geological Survey study estimates that between 71 to 95 million people in the Lower 48 states (more than 20% of the country’s population) may rely on groundwater that contains detectable concentrations of PFAs. – USGS
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced $3.6 billion in new funding under the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to upgrade water infrastructure and keep communities safe.
